$10K Ring, iPhone Stolen, New Trier Teen Nabbed for Fake ID

Ring Worth More than $10k Stolen

A resident in the 1200 block of Whitebridge Hill Lane reported that between June and Dec. 4 a ring was stolen from his home. The loss exceeds $10,000, police said. 

iPhone Theft

A woman reported that an iPhone was stolen from her purse at 490 Hibbard Road between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Dec. 8. The loss is estimated at $500, police said. 

Warrant Arrest 

Lee G. Keirsted, 67, of 688 Green Bay Rd., Winnetka, was arrested Dec. 3 on an outstanding warrant from Clark County, Nevada. Keirsted was turned over to the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department for processing and transported to Nevada. He was originally stopped for a cell phone violation at 410 Green Bay Road. 

Daryl L. Morris, 42, of 8949 S. Justine St., Chicago, was arrested Dec. 3 on an outstanding warrant from McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Department. He was originally stopped for a lighting violation in the 400 block of Sheridan Road, he was issued a Jan. 17, 2013 court date. 

DUI

Janina Marcela, 66, of 9241 Irving Park Rd., Schiller Park, was arrested Dec. 7 for driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic crash investigation in the 1100 block of Tower Road. She was also cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid and accident and not having proof of insurance. She was issued a Jan. 23, 2013 court date. 

Criminal Damage 

A resident in the 500 block of Chestnut Street discovered between Dec. 3 and 4 that someone scratched her vehicle on various locations. The cost of repair is unknown, police said. 

Possession of Cannabis

A 15-year-old from the New Trier Township area was cited on Dec. 5 for possession of cannabis at 385 Winnetka Ave. The teen was issued a Jan. 4, 2013 court date. 

Traffic Arrest

Israel Hernandez, 26, of 414 Green Bay Rd., Highwood, was arrested Dec. 7 for driving without a valid driver’s license and cited for improper lighting following a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Willow Road. He was issued a Dec. 26 court date.

Possession of Fake ID

A 17-year-old from the New Trier Township area was cited Dec. 8 for possession of a fraudulent ID at 490 Hibbard Road. The teen was issued a Jan. 4, 2013, court date.
