We are within a month of having Illinois residents that have obtained permits legally carry concealed firearms in Illinois. The law provides that in addition to certain enumerated prohibited locations, businesses that post a sign of proper sign [see below] may prohibit individuals from bringing a concealed firearm into their business. There are some groups advocating the signs....which are a sure way to leave employees and customers unprotected. It is estimated that 10-15% of Illinois residents LEGALLY able to acquire the permits are going to do so. Businesses that choose to post the signs need to be aware that those of us with the permits intend to ACTIVELY BOYCOTT and not patronize any business that posts a sign prohibiting firearms. There are even phone apps available that will track non-firearm friendly businesses. People have the right to make a choice on this and many of us won't spend our money with a business that doesn't respect our constitutional rights.
