Richard Halpern, Glencoe Resident and Construction Visionary, Dies at 78

Halpern shared his aesthetics with the Willis Tower, the Art Institute of Chicago and the O'Hare Airport.

Richard Halpern, a Glencoe resident and well-known construction leader, died on July 3 at age 78, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The father of three and grandfather of two left his mark on some of the great architectural gems of Chicago, namely the Willis Tower and the Art Institute's modern wing.

He is described as "brilliant, scrupulously honest, a wonderful marketer and a very, very good friend," in the Sun-Times article.
