This month, North Shore is providing gifts for 13 families through the Northwestern University Settlement House holiday assistance program.

The School has participated for at least 15 years, sponsoring children and parents who could not otherwise afford to have a Christmas. Traditionally, the trees used in the Lower School holiday program are given to the drive as well.

Faculty and Upper School students are donating new toys, household items, clothing and food to the families, who are all part of the Settlement House's emergency services program. Northwestern University Settlement offers support and nourishment to the Chicago area, providing resources that empower children and families to take personal responsibility and maintain or attain self-sufficiency.
