Interview with Catherine Hayward '16, Varsity Tennis

Interview with North Shore Country Day School freshman Catherine Hayward.

An excerpted version of this interview was published in Wilmette Life.

What sport do you play and what position?

I’m on the number one doubles tennis team with Abby Trott '13.

Where do you envision yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I hope to have gone to college, possibly playing tennis. I would be 24 and I would hope to have a successful career... I think I would possibly want to live in the South because I go to camp in the South and I really like the culture down there.

If you were the subject of a movie, who would you want to play that role — and why?

Tina Fey, because she’s always pretty happy in her roles and I like how she acts. She seems like a good role model.

What are three things you can't live without?

My family, because they are so supportive with everything I do and I know they’d help me through any problem that I come by. If I had to pick one food, it would probably be pasta. And, I think I’d say my school and out-of-school activities because they keep me occupied and help keep me from being bored during the day.

What's the best thing about your school?

I love how all the grades are kind of [together] and everyone is friends with everyone from all grades. I’m a freshman, but I’m also friends with juniors and seniors and sophomores.

If you could change one thing about your school, what would it be?

I don’t really think I would change anything! I like the whole atmosphere. I like how everybody is friends and nice to each other. I like the smallness of the school.
