The Men’s Library Club (MLC) ended its 2011-2012 calendar year by celebrating America and distributing over 800 books during Wednesday's July 4th parade in Glencoe.
During the past year, the MLC has continued its active support of the local community by donating club funds to a variety of causes, including the Glencoe Educational Foundation/Glencoe Grand Prix, the Friends of the Glencoe Public Library and the Patriotic Days Committee. In addition, the MLC purchased a signed, limited edition copy of Glencoe native Archibald MacLeish’s "New and Complete Poems: 1917–1976" and then donated the book to the Glencoe Public Library.
The MLC is a social organization that meets regularly throughout the year and events are used as vehicles to promote literacy and support local causes within our community.
