16 More Days...

Healthcare mission to Ecuador happens soon!

It's nice to have some quiet time for reflection before our healthcare mission outreach to Ecuador.

Just finished watching an inspirational documentary, "Emmanuel's Gift," narrated by Oprah Winfrey.   It's the true story of a disabled young man in Ghana who decided to inspire the many other disabled individuals in his country by riding a bicycle across his country with one leg.  Emmanuel is a man who saw the "big picture..." that it's important to focus on one's abilities in order to help as many people as possible.  This man not only bicycled across Ghana, but has been able to create major changes and shifts in attitudes about the disabled in his country just by his courage and perseverance to approach those in high positions, and let them know what needs to be done.

Quite an inspiring film for anyone to watch.  It made me realize how much more I can do to help those in need.  Would love to take action on my idea to share the positive stories of nonprofits through an online "Making A Difference" show.  After watching "Emmanuel's Gift," I realize how important it is to engage others in your effort... get the word out... and not give up.

Only 16 more days until our trip to Ecuador with Causes For Change International.   Still hoping we'll have at least one other dentist join us.  If not, we will do the best we can to help 2000 children in one week!  Whew!
