WATCH: Glencoe Public Safety Kittens Playing

The six tabby kittens born in the Glencoe Public Safety building in April 12 are now just under seven weeks old - and are doing great, and appear to be healthy.

The kitten's mother was picked up at a Glencoe residence in early March after wildlife rehabilitators were called to catch a skunk. The mother cat, who is still very hostile to humans, was brought in and scanned for a microchip. Finding none, officers let her stay in a kennel in the Public Safety building, where she gave birth to six kittens on April 12.

When the kittens turn eight weeks old, they'll be taken to the Glencoe Animal Veternarian and given check-ups and necessary shots. Those interested in adopting a kitten can call Sweeney at (847) 853-4112 ext. 1148.
