Skokie School Hosts Leahpalooza to Raise Funds for Pediatric Cancer

Sixth-graders at the Winnetka elementary school took park in a service project to honor Leah Anderson, the daughter of a teacher at the Skokie School, who recently lost her battle with brain cancer.

 

When sixth-graders at the Skokie School was looking for a service project, they knew exactly who they wanted to fundraise for—Leah Anderson, the daughter of a Skokie School teacher who lost her battle with brain cancer in December 2012, Winnetka Talk reported. 

The 44 students raised money for the LEA Foundation (Live, Educate, to become Aware) for pediatric cancer research by holding a fundraiser featuring many of Leah’s passions and hobbies such as face painting, cupcake decorating and dancing, Winnetka Talk reported.
