Winnetka's Dennis O'Keefe Tapped for WGA Chairman

The Western Golf Association has been in the same headquarters in the Village of Golf since 1955.

The Western Golf Association, headquartered in the Village of Golf, has picked Winnetka's Dennis O'Keefe to serve as the organization's next chairman. O'Keefe's father, Jim, helped open the Golf headquarters in 1955 with the help of Charles "Chick" Evans.

O'Keefe was 8 at the time, but his father was chairman from 1955 to 1956.

I’m following in the footsteps of some great and wise men,” O’Keefe told the WGA. “It’s an honor to serve in the same role my father once served more than 60 years ago and lead an organization that runs four of the best golf tournaments in the world and one of the world’s great charities.”

O'Keefe is president of a law firm in Lake Forest, attended Northwestern University and University of Illinois.
