The Winnetka Historical Society
will open its new exhibit The
Adventurers:  Winnetka’s Untold Tales of
Travel, 1899-1927
on March 9, 2014 from 1-4pm.  The exhibit features five swashbuckling expeditions
of Winnetkans motivated by humanitarian needs, business interests, artistic
inspiration and intellectual curiosity.
Taken in the first quarter of the 20th century, these journeys
were unique in an America where most people lived and died within 20 miles of
where they were born.  Come see the
objects, photos and costumes that tell their stories and sample some
international refreshments.  The exhibit
will be open to the public through June of 2015.
