"Spring A.I.R." Art Exhibit in Glencoe
Two
North Shore painters, Aparna Krishen of Glenview and Cicely Clarke
Michalak of Winnetka, will have an exhibit of their work at the Artists-In-Residence (A.I.R.) Gallery in Glencoe this spring. The opening reception for “Spring A.I.R.” will run from 4 PM to 7 PM on two evenings: Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17. The public is invited to come see the art and to meet these two artists who express themselves very differently on canvas, using distinct color palettes
and approaches to imagery.
Refreshments and nibbles will be served
at the opening reception. The show runs through June 19.
Aparna Krishen paints portraits and landscapes that capture the beauty of people, nature and the sunsets that she experienced in her childhood summers in Kashmir. Faces and moods of people inspire her to get emotions onto her canvas.
Her new series of paintings of monks reflect her fascination for the spiritual world. She works with charcoal, oil and acrylics.
Cicely
Clarke Michalak works with subjects that inspire her: flowers,
landscapes, barns, and abstracts. Because she also works with the written form, many of her works include: poetry, double meanings expressions, quotes and narratives.
