SWANCC to hold Eco-Friendly Shredding Event

Get rid of your personal files in a safe, environmentally friendly way.

Looking to do something good for the environment and your confidentiality? Well, you’re in luck. Saturday, Aug. 27, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) will host a document destruction event at the Glencoe South East Commuter Train Parking Lot. Bring any paper documents like medical forms, bank statements or retired tax forms you need shredded from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and SWANCC will shred, bale and recycle them for you at no cost.

Since 2005, SWANCC has provided North Shore residents a bevy of waste reduction and recycling services, including collections for computers and fluorescent light bulbs. They have shredded over 658,000 pounds of paper from around the community.

For more information contact the Agency at (847) 724-9205 or visit SWANCC’s website at swancc.org.
