Sick Owls and Duck Crossings in Glencoe

The following information was provided by the Glencoe Public Safety Department. In the case of an arrest, it does not indicate a conviction.

Sick Owl Reported
A caller from the Parks Department stated that there was a sick owl on the north side of the soccer field at South School by the stone benches, Glencoe Public Safety report states. The incident occurred on May 31. 

Ducks Crossing Highway
A caller on May 25 reported that a mother duck with eight ducklings were crossing the southbound Eden's Expressway near Dundee Rd., police reports state. The call was transferred to the Illinois State Police. 

Improper Lane Usage, No Valid License
José Romero, 42, of Chicago is being charged with improper lane usage and driving without a valid license, police reports state. The incident, which occurred on May 25, happened at the intersection of Green Bay Rd. and Old Elm. Romero was taken to the station and bonded out. His court date is set for July 5. 

Driving Under the Influence
Lybomyr Kovalchuk, 44, of Chicago is being charged with driving under the influence, driving with a BAC over .08, driving without a valid driver's license and improper lane usage, according to Glencoe Public Safety reports. Kovalchuk was pulled over by police on May 26 at the intersection of Green Bay Rd. and Harbor St.  His BAC was .209. Kovalchuk debonded and his court date is set for June 20.
