Meet the Woman Who Hired Wright Apprentice to Design Home

After living in her “personal sanctuary” for 30 years, has decided it’s time for a change and has put her $2.7 million home up for sale.

What some may not know about this Riverwoods property is that it was designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s youngest apprentices, Arthur Dennis Stevens.

Marcus first met Stevens in a Des Plaines office building where the duo worked. Stevens had designed that facility as well, and Marcus remembers being impressed with it right off the bat.

The day after Marcus bought the land in Riverwoods, she asked Stevens to be her architect. Construction started in 1978 and Marcus was moved in two years later.
