Glencoe Resident Reports Flying Squirrel in Residence

The following arrest information was provided by the Glencoe Public Safety Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Flying Squirrel in Residence
A resident on the 200 block of Old Greenbay Rd. reported a sugar glider in their residence, Glencoe Public Safety reports state. The incident, which happened on May 30, occurred when what has been verified as a Northern Flying Squirrel got inside through a sliding glass door. The squirrel, which was healthy, was caught in a box but escaped and glided away into the neighbor's yard onto a tree. 

Taxi Dispute
A passenger on the 170 block of Hazel Ave. advised police on June 1 that he thinks the taxi driver pulled a scam, police reports state. The complainant was told by the driver that he needed to pay 1.5 times the fare from Chicago into Glencoe due to the distance. The passenger felt it was not right, but eventually paid the $93 fare. He will contact the cab company to verify the policy.
