Winnetka's William C. Weinsheimer Joins Northbrook Law Firm

Chicago Nov. 7, 2013 William C. Weinsheimer (Weins-heimer) has moved his law practice to Strauss & Malk, LLP as an Of Counsel attorney. The main office of Strauss & Malk is at 135 Revere Drive, Northbrook, with additional offices at 10 S. La Salle St., Chicago, and at 297 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest. Prior to joining Strauss & Malk, Weinsheimer practiced for over 30 years with the Chicago firm of Hopkins & Sutter and for 10 years at Foley & Lardner in Chicago. He was a partner in both firms and chaired or co-chaired their respective trusts and estates practices.

“I’m excited to join Strauss & Malk, a firm with a great reputation and a deep bench of tax, estate planning, and trusts and estates attorneys,” says Weinsheimer. Founded in 1994, Strauss & Malk is a 15-lawyer firm that focuses on estate planning and wealth preservation, litigation, business and corporate law, and real estate.

Weinsheimer practices estate planning and estate and trust law. He focuses on tax and succession planning for owners of closely held businesses, key executives and other wealthy individuals. He also advises clients regarding trust and estate administration, charitable planning and fiduciary litigation and related areas of taxation, and he is frequently invited to speak on these topics.

He has been recommended by his Illinois peers in the areas of Trust, Will & Estate Planning Law every year since 2005. Through its Leading Lawyers division, the Law Bulletin Publishing Company conducted an extensive statewide survey of Illinois lawyers, asking them: “If you couldn’t take a case in your area of law, to whom would you refer a family member or friend?” Only those lawyers most often recommended by their peers in one of 100 areas of law have achieved the distinction of being a Leading Lawyer. Lawyers could not nominate themselves or lawyers at their own firm. The rigorous research methodology eliminated the possibility of lawyers being selected through a popularity contest.
