The Happ Inn, located in Northfield, has recently unveiled new menus. Executive Chef Freddy Sanchez and proprietor Carlos Nieto have developed new dishes for lunch, dinner and dessert. "Carlos' favorites", denoted by a red star on the menu, include: Freddy's Famous Guacamole; Shrimp Ceviche; Spinach and Goat Cheese Flatbread; Chicken Tortilla Soup; Greek Salad; Chicken Vesuvio; Chopped Steak; Nicoise Salad; Southwest Chopped Salad; Tilapia Tacos; Sunrise Burger; Mexican Turkey Burger; Bill Kurtis Grass Fed Burger; Grilled Jumbo Shrimp; Carlos' Skirt Steak Frites; and Lake Superior White Fish.
Lunch and dinner service at The Happ Inn features starter courses (Herbed Hummus; Wood Oven Roasted Mozzarella; Crispy Tilapia Sliders), a variety of soups (Of The Day; Seasonal Selection; Turkey Chili), Salads (Beet; Romaine and Kale Caesar; Wedge), Happ Specialties (Seared Tuna Sandwich; Shrimp Cappellini; General Happ's Fried Chicken), Burgers and Sandwiches (Pulled Pork; Falafel and Black Bean; Pressed Cuban). For a sweet ending, dessert choices include: Espresso Chocolate Cake;Happ-ie Streusel Pie; Key Lime Pie; Carrot Cake; Homer's Ice Cream; Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae; and Tres Leches.
Each evening, The Happ Inn offers a "nightly special" dish and drink: Monday - Chicken Rellenos and $5 Specialty Margaritas; Tuesday - Mahi-Mahi and $4 Draft Brews; Wednesday - BBQ Baby Back Ribs and Half-priced Bottles of Wine; Thursday - Chicken Milanese and $5 Select Martinis; Friday - Crab Cakes and $7 Sangria;Saturday - Ribeye Steak and $5 Bloody Marys and Mimosas; Sunday - Wood Oven Roasted Chicken with Peppers and Potatoes and $5 Bloody Marys and Mimosas.
For those dining with dietary restrictions, The Happ Inn will gladly make their dishes into gluten-free, low-carb (lettuce cup replaces bun) and lower fat (chicken breast, vegetable or turkey patty replaces beef) versions when applicable. Carry-out orders and party trays are available.
