Money! Warren Buffett to Fundraise in Winnetka

Buffett is expected as a major-featured guest at an Obama fundraiser in the home of a Chicago investor and Winnetka resident on Thursday.

At $35,800 a pop, a fundraiser for President Barack Obama's re-election is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27 in Winnetka, according to Crain's Chicago Business, with billionaire investor Warren Buffett on the roster. James Crown, Penny Pritzker, John Rogers Jr. and other major local donors are co-hosting the event.

The dinner and conversation will take place at the home of Byron Trott, an investment banker. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Trott bought the lakefront home for $11.45 million in 2001.

In the article, "Obama funder host Trott: ‘He’s not a schmoozer, he’s a thinker’," the Sun-Times describes Trott as a private man who now directs BDT Capital Partners LLC in Chicago, after working at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. for 25 years.
