Kraft Foods Schemes to Split into Two Companies

The announcement came on Thursday morning.

Kraft Foods, the Northbrook-based food company, announced on Thursday its intentions to split into two publically traded companies.

The plan is to divide the food brands by utility. One company will focus on snacks, such as Oreos and Cadbury. The second company will center on grocery items, such as Maxwell House coffee and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, according to the Associated Press

In addition, the company pointed out that revenue increased 13 percent this past quarter.
