Beat Street Officially Opens Its Doors at New Location

The new Winnetka location opened Monday, with the Kenilworth location opening next week.

Beat Street, a novelty and gift shop in Hubbard Woods, has officially opened its doors at its new location at 1081 Gage St.

The business moved from its former location over the weekend and throughout Monday and had its first day in the new space on Tuesday, although the move has been in the works since July.

"We've probably made over 100 trips back and forth [between the old and the new store]," said Beat Street owner Julie Windsor. "We've had a couple hundred bins to empty!"

Although the new location is still new, Windsor said that she already likes the new space.

"I like the feeling of not being on Green Bay," she said. "This feels a little more like a local store. Green Bay Rd. felt a little more drive-through, this feels a little more pedestrian."

A second Kenilworth location is still in the works, and is expected to open early next week.
