Libby Fischer Hellmann Book Talk

North Shore Author Highlights Restaurant Literary Series
ACCLAIMED LOCAL THRILLER AUTHOR TO SPEAK AT MAX & BENNY'S

Libby Fischer Hellmann, the award-winning author of seven crime fiction thrillers, including the recent SET THE NIGHT ON FIRE, as well as the Georgia Davis and Ellie Foreman novels, will be the guest speaker at the Chicago Jewish Authors Literary Series, June 21, 7 PM, at Max &Benny's Restaurant and Deli in Northbrook.

The Chicago Tribune calls SET THE NIGHT ON FIRE, a thriller that goes back, in part, to the late Sixties in Chicago, "superior" and says that "passion, pain, and protests emerge in vivid detail."  Publishers Weekly calls it "top rate... a jazzy fusion of past and present." ForeWord Review Magazine has short-listed it for their Best Suspense/Thriller novel of 2010. More information is on her website: http://libbyhellmann.com.

Hellmann will talk about her novels, her writing process, and why, as a native of Washington, D.C., she has called Chicago home for thirty years. She will also talk about her Jewish heroine, Ellie Foreman, and why she began writing in the first place. Her books will be available for purchase and signing after the presentation.

The Chicago Jewish Authors Literary Series was created by Richard Reeder in January 2011. The program debuted with Mr. Reeder speaking about Saul Bellow, followed by author Marlene Targ Brill speaking about her work last March. Hellmann is the third speaker in the series.
