Winnetka Native to Produce Movie on John Wayne Gacy

A New Trier graduate will produce a still-untitled movie about the infamous serial killer.

Patty West, a Winnetka native and New Trier High School graduate, will be producing a feature film being made about serial killer John Wayne Gacy and his attorney Sam Amirante, according to an article by the Daily Herald. The untitled movie will be based off "Defending a Monster," the 2011 book written by Amirante and attorney/writer Danny Broderick.

West told the Daily Herald that she is still working to find the best mix of writers to finish the script, which they'll then cast, the Daily Herald article states. She hopes the movie will be finished by the end of 2014, and its possible that some parts will film in the Chicagoland area.
