The Week In Preview

Weekend Pattern: A low pressure system will track to our west over the weekend with the low tracking from central Iowa to western Wisconsin. This places us on the warm side of the storm, so I’m expecting just a few showers and possibly a t-storm from Saturday afternoon into early Sunday with total rainfall amounts less than a third of an inch. This storm has slowed down on various computer models, so it’s possible that rain may arrive a little later.

Midweek Pattern: A wavy frontal boundary across the southern states will send a wave of low pressure north into the Ohio Valley region toward the middle of next week. It is possible that some showers may impact parts of our area Nov. 22 or 23. Otherwise, dry weather is expected for Thursday and much of Friday.

Temperatures: A rather mild period is expected with temperatures rebounding to near 50 Friday and into the mid 50s on Saturday, which is 10 to 12 degrees above normal. Temperatures will average closer to normal on Nov. 21, 22 and 23 with a warming trend toward the middle and end of the week for a few days. Colder air will likely filter back into northern Illinois around Nov. 26 or 27 and last for several days.

Thanksgiving Forecast: Partly cloudy, breezy with above average temperatures. Low temp: 38. High temp: 48 to 50. Southwest winds at 15-25 mph.
