It could be one of the last weekends to get in that last game of because colder weather is again in our future. A weak disturbance on Sunday may bring a few showers to our area with the best coverage occurring before 2 p.m.

Another storm system may impact the area near Nov. 15 with possibly some showers sneaking up from the south. Temperatures will turn colder again by the middle and end of the period.

General Weather Discussion for the Week Ahead
Mother Nature will give us a well-deserved break during the next few days with a return of quiet weather and a gradual warming trend. After the inclement weather we experienced, this will be a good way to end the week. The coldest air of the season has arrived, but it is temporary. Temperatures across much of the areas (as of 7 a.m. Friday morning) are below freezing and for a lot of us, this is the first official freeze of the season. By the end of the day, temperatures will rebound into the upper 40s with any precipitation staying well to our north.
As the upper-air flow shifts around to the southwest, warmer air will move up from the south with high temps expected to reach the mid 50s on Saturday with a good deal of sunshine. A fairly weak frontal boundary will pass through on Sunday with just a chance of a few showers or sprinkles, especially during the first half of the day. Showers will pass east of the region by Sunday afternoon with the sun returning for a few hours.
After a quiet Monday, the pattern becomes more amplified again with another storm moving through the center of the country from late Monday night through the first half of Tuesday. This could bring a light rain event to the area on Tuesday with the best coverage over the southern suburbs and across downstate Illinois. A strong cold front will pass through by Tuesday night, and this will bring our next bout of cold air with highs in the 40s and low in the 20s and 30s for the remainder of the period.
Since we will be in a northwest flow pattern, a few passing flurries cannot be ruled out by next Wednesday or Thursday with no accumulation expected at this time. Any significant snow accumulation over the next 7 to ten days will likely pass well to our north and west over the Plains and Rockies.
