Show Us Your Heroes for Veterans Day

Upload a photo or video of you or a loved-one to be featured on Veterans Day.

Did you or a loved one serve our country?

If so, there have got to be some good photos and videos to show it. So, dig through that old shoebox; find that file folder or scroll way down on your profile pictures — they’re bound to be somewhere.

Are you a tough sergeant major? Surely, someone in basic training took your picture looking stunning with standard-issue glasses.

Extra:

Whether you were a Marine aboard Camp Pendleton or a soldier in Germany, Patch wants to see your photos and videos, as well as hear your story.  Is there a photo showing you serving the veteran community?  We want to see that too.

Simply upload your photos clicking the “Submit Your Photos” button above the main image and we will feature it on Veterans Day.  Make sure to add a caption telling us about veteran and tell us that service member's story. You can also embed a YouTube video by pasting a link.

Finally, if you want to tell the neighborhood the story of their service, contact carrie.porter@patch.com to write a blog post, as long or short as you like. We're featuring the best ones on the front page Friday!

My dad served in the Marine Corps for 25 years, including 3 overseas tours (2 in Vietnam, 1 in Okinawa). I am proud of his service (2 Bronze Stars, Navy Commendation Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Legion of Merit), but also of the service of the family who helped on the home front, especially my mom. She had 2 out of 4 kids while her husband was overseas, moved 22 times, and her service showed courage and patriotism too. So this Veterans Day I am grateful not only for our veterans but all for all the military spouses and dependents in our great country.
