Photo of the Day: Winnetka Resident Honored with Daley Award

Dr. José Oberholzer, director of the Chicago Diabetes Project, received the honor for his fundraising efforts for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

A Winnetka resident was honored by former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley May 29 for raising more than $125,000 for the Chicago Diabetes.

Dr. José Oberholzer, director of the Chicago Diabetes Project, is the second person to be honored with the award, known as the Mayor Richard M. Daley and Maggie Daley Award. Created in 2010, the honor celebrates the "Bank of America Chicago Marathon participant who raised the most funds for charity through the annual world-class endurance event."

Marathon director Carey Pinkowski and Bank of America Illinois President Tim Maloney were also on hand to congratulate Oberholzer.
