New Trier Alum Helps Deliver Free Meals to Those Affected by Cancer

Wilmette resident Courtney Whilte founded Culinary Care after losing her father to lung cancer.

When Courtney White was slowly losing her father to lung cancer, she was thankful for friends and neighbors who delivered home-cooked meals every evening for two months. Inspired by the support, the New Trier High School graduate started Culinary Care to provide free meals to people affected by cancer.

“Those meals helped my family avoid some of the daily stressors we were facing and gave us the added strength to keep moving forward,” Wilmette resident White said in a press release. “This is what I hope to deliver to others through the mission of Culinary Care.”

The organization recently teamed up with Maggiano’s to deliver its first meal to Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s Hospital. Culinary Care has also partnered with Rockit Bar & Grill and Sunda and hopes to cultivate more relationships with restaurants.

Anyone in the Chicagoland area affected by cancer can apply for a meal by filing out an online form at: www.CulinaryCare.org
