A study conducted by the Urban land Institute and Chicago-area officials recommends that the that Hubbard Woods business district revamp itself to become an art and design district for the community, according to a recent article by the Chicago Tribune. The idea was inspired by New York City's Bryant Park.
Mike Fitzgerald, a Chicago architect and the Urban Land Institute volunteer, told the Tribune that creating a connection between the park and the business distract is a crucial part of the plan.
"The study looked at how we can give Hubbard Woods more energy, to make it a destination when you can go to the shop, and then walk over to the park to lounge and read a book, or in the evenings, eat at one of the restaurants, then head to the park to see a movie or go for a stroll," he told the Tribune.
