Glencoe Village Hall Available as a Cooling Center

Glencoe Village Hall will be open 24-hours-per-day to help those looking to beat the heat.

Glencoe Village Hall is available as a cooling center for any resident who needs relief from the near-record high temperatures and humidity this week. The building will be open 24 hours per day, with specific locations set for those trying to beat the heat.

The Village recommends that residents stay indoors in the air conditioning as much as possible, and try to stick to the shade when outside. If your home isn't air conditioned, try to spend time at another air conditioned place, such as a mall, library or other public place.

Everyone should also be sure to wear sunscreen and drink water regularly throughout the day. Never leave children or pets alone in the car. Also be sure to check on elderly neighbors or those with special needs to make sure they're okay.

The weather will hit the mid-80s on Wednesday, cooling down later in the week, with Friday having a high of 64 and a low of 46, according to Weather.com
