Raise money for Winnetka Youth Organization’s annual summer service trip to Earthkeeper Farm in Kent, MI by selling glowsticsk for the evening’s fireworks.

Independence Day Fun & Fireworks
When/Where:
Sunday July 3 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Gillson Park, Wilmette, IL
Why Go:
Come celebrate the 4th of July with an array of activities including a 3K run/walk, Tastefest, a musical concert and a theatrical performance. Wilmette Park District is topping off the evening with a blow-out fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.

Taste of Chicago

When/Where:
July 1 and 2 from 11 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. and July 3 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Grant Park, Chicago
Why Go:
Peruse some of the best food the City of Big Shoulders has to offer in the closing weekend of the Taste of Chicago. Also pop by the entertainment stages to get some blues tunes.

Elvis Live!
When/Where:
Beacon Tap, 1374 Lee St. in Des Plaines. Saturday, July 2, 8 p.m.
Why Go:
Enjoy some cocktails in the beer garden while you watch ‘The King,’ or at least the closest thing to him. Rick Saucedo has been performing as Elvis since he was a 17-year-old kid in 1972. He’s opened for The Monkees and performed in The Legend Lives On on Broadway as Elvis. He’s the real deal.

Concert In The Park: American Salute
