A Letter From Santa

St. Nick himself invites kids of all ages to deposit their letters to him in the festive mailbox at Chestnut and Elm.

Check back this Wednesday for our first featured letter to Santa (images and text included!). We're publishing one letter every Wednesday until Dec. 21.

An Open Letter to the Residents of Winnetka:

This is my favorite time of year! It's quite busy at the North Pole, actually so busy that I don't have a single elf to spare. That's why I'm so grateful to my friends at the (especially DeDe and Lee) for their help once again setting up my "special delivery" mailbox at Chestnut and Elm. I've made extraordinary arrangements to get all the children's letters sent to me by overnight delivery between now and December 21. Mrs. Claus has made sure that time is set aside daily to respond to those children who send a return address with their letters.

This year I'm going to do something a little different to get all those "Scrooges" out there in the holiday spirit. Each Wednesday, starting December 8 through December 22, I plan to share one of my favorite letters (of course without last names) here on Winnetka-Glencoe Patch (thanks !). Make sure to check back this Wednesday (got to go, they're starting up some reindeer games). I'm looking forward to my travel plans later this month, including a brief stop in Winnetka.

Your Good Friend,

P.S. The mailbox still looks great! Thanks for sprucing it up a couple years ago.

P.P.S. I heard the Winnetka Park District offers holiday camps, open gyms and lots of special events during December. To find out more (just like I do during my down time – Cortney can I make a tee time yet?) at www.winpark.org.
