New Trier Township Issues Call for Funding Applications

New Trier Township is now accepting funding applications for the Township’s 2014-2015 fiscal year, which begins March 1, 2014. To be eligible for funding an agency must be a 501 (c) 3 organization, provide direct services to Township residents and have a firm sense of mission, a volunteer board and an established evaluation process. To apply for funding, an Application for Funding and Budget Worksheet should be filled out and submitted to the Township by Monday, September 16, 2013 at noon.

Once proposals have been submitted, the Township Advisory Committees, made up of volunteers from the Township, hold a series of public hearings in the months of October and November, with final allocation recommendations being made to the New Trier Township Board in December.

During the recent fiscal year 2012-13, New Trier Township awarded $1.26 million in grants to 37 different social service agencies to support 46 programs that range from youth drop-in centers and senior services to the well being of individuals and families in addition to crisis intervention and prevention services. The Township also provides financial support to residential, vocational and respite programs, as well as advocacy and inclusion programs for persons with disabilities.
