Nine years ago, Lynn’s husband Bob was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Thanks to excellent medical care and good fortune, he is alive, cancer-free and celebrating 41 years of marriage to Lynn this year.

Having been with Bob through a year of intense chemotherapy, I came to realize how important the work and support of an organization such as LLS is,” says Lynn.

Lynn and her family fundraise annually for LLS’s Light The Night Walk in Glenview (on Sunday, October 20 this year) to contribute to the continuation of LLS’s work.

“Our family loves to "light the night" with our dear friends and family and all of our fellow supporters of LLS!” says Lynn.

She is a principal in the aviation financial consulting firm of D+G Consulting Group, LLC, and previously practiced law for 26 years with Hopkins & Sutter, also in the aviation finance area.

Lynn was raised in Glencoe, and she and Bob moved back to the town 20 years ago. They have two daughters, Carolyn, 29, a PhD student in Washington, D.C.; and Elizabeth, 25, a medical student in Chicago.

“We are delighted to have Lynn join the Board of Trustees,” says LLS executive director Pam Swenk. “She and her family have long been dedicated to finding cures for blood cancers, and she will be a wonderful leader on the Board.”

LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatment for blood cancer patients. LLS has contributed nearly $1 billion to blood cancer research and is the leading source of free blood cancer information, education and patient support.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Greater Illinois Chapter serves people in the state of Illinois as well as Porter and Lake Counties in Indiana.
