Hubbard Woods' School PTO Earns Money From Local Grocer

Students from Hubbard Woods School pose with a mock check from The Grand Food Center for their PTO's participation in the grocer's "Food for Funds" program last year. Joining the students in the photo is Grand Food Center Winnetka store manager Rick Pasquini, and Hubbard Woods PTO parent Julie Hill. The Winnetka grocer invites parents of participating schools to submit their store receipts collected during the school year for 3% cash back. The schools can then use the money any way they wish-including for school supplies, field trips and items for their classrooms. Hubbard Woods PTO last year earned $10,966. In 2014, The Grand Food Center distributed nearly $75,000 to Winnetka and Glencoe-based schools as part of this program.
