Everything Old is New Again

 

“Everything Old is New Again” Gala Set for Sept. 7 at Glencoe Historical Society

 The glorious Eklund Garden will be the setting for the annual 2013 Glencoe Historical Society gala set for Sept. 7. “Everything Old is New Again” will honor new leadership at the village’s various governments (park district, library, village board) and village organizations that are celebrating anniversaries, including Glencoe Family Services and the League of Women Voters. Tickets are now on sale.

 Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by a dinner buffet.  Entertainment begins at 8:30 p.m. and a raffle drawing will be held through the evening. Glencoe gift shop items will be on sale.

 The party will be held at the Eklund History Center and Garden, 377 Park Ave. The galleries in both museum buildings will be open so attendees can visit the many exhibits, including the newest,  Feminine Diplomacy: How Illinois Women Won the Right to Vote in 1913, and Civil War as Seen by Glencoe Veterans, as well as Images of Glencoe (interactive photo array).

 Cost is $85 per person and classic cocktail attire is expected. Tickets can be obtained by emailing RSVP@glencoehistory.com or call 847-835-0040 and leave a message.
