Chicago’s Designs for Dignity Raises Nearly $150,000
at its 14th Annual Fundraiser
Event Benefits Local Not-for-Profit Organizations and their Communities by Transforming Existing Spaces into Comfortable, Supportive and Dignified Environments
Chicago, IL – (May, 30 2014) – More than 500 interior designers, design industry professionals and guests from the Chicagoland area joined together to celebrate Designs for Dignity’s (D4D) 14th Annual Spirit of Design honoring the Chicago-based organization’s mission to create environments that reflect dignity, hope and comfort for nonprofit program sites. The event was held at Ignite Glass Studio in Chicago on May 8, 2014.
In total, nearly $150,000 was raised in ticket sales, raffle purchases and live appeal contributions and will be used to fund Designs for Dignity’s grants and pro bono services provided annually by D4D to local Chicago nonprofits that serve at-risk populations.
“The Spirit of Design event is the culmination of our organization’s passion for creating functional environments that support the wellness of the human spirit,” said Diane Falanga, Board President, Designs for Dignity. “We couldn’t have possibly made it this far without the never-ending support and devotion of the kindhearted individuals that contribute to Designs for Dignity. We are extremely grateful to our volunteers and sponsors who support our mission and make our organization the success that it is today.”
This year’s Spirit of Design included glorious food, an open bar and raffle prizes with international destinations. New this year, Designs for Dignity hosted an after party called D4D After Dark. Beginning at 9 p.m., the after party continued the celebration, which included live entertainment by DJ Matthew Harvat, an open bar and incredible food. All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the work and mission of Designs for Dignity.
