Mega Millions Jackpot Tops $400 Million for Friday Drawing
The Illinois Lottery wants you to think about dropping $2 on the Veterans Cash drawing, too, to help our military vets.
The second largest jackpot in Mega Millions history is up for grabs this Friday. As of Thursday morning, the jackpot rose to $400 million with a lump-sum payout over $216 million.
Capitalizing on the high interest in the Mega Millions, the Illinois Lottery is asking lottery ticket buyers to pony up $2 for a special Veterans Cash Lottery Ticket.
The proceeds for that lottery help veterans in Illinois in need of assistance. The money funds physical therapy, PTSD therapy, dental services and more exclusively for Illinois veterans. Since 2006, the Veterans Cash game has raised $11 million for veterans since it debuted. A $2 ticket buys you the chance to win $20,000.
