Fuddruckers Makes Progress, Remains Closed

Highland Park restaurant makes exterior repairs.

Just over a week after a driver crashed into Highland Park’s Fuddruckers restaurant Dec. 29, the building’s exterior has been partially repaired but the restaurant remains temporarily closed, according to a sign on the door.

After the motorist put a gaping hole in the front restaurant, crews have been working to repair it and it is now covered. The company hopes to open the eatery soon, according to company spokesperson Toni Niece.

The driver, Robert Meisinger of Deerfield, intentionally drove into the building after hitting two other motorists on purpose, according information from the Highland Park Police Department. He was charged with criminal damage to property and aggravated assault.
