9/11 Commemoration Set for Glencoe

Find out what you need to know this Wednesday in Winnetka and Wilmette.

Commemoration Set: A Sept. 11 Commemoration will take place in Glencoe tomorrow morning. The event will occur at the Am Shalom Flagpole (840 Vernon Ave.) from 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. 

The Book Stall Presents John Mooallem: The Book Stall will be hosting John Mooallem, a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, an event on Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. at the City Winery. Mooallem will perform a special collaborative composition with the band Black Prairie based on his book, Wild Ones: A Sometimes Dismaying, Weirdly Reassuring Story About Looking at People Looking at Animals in America. Mooallem will tell stories from the book while the Black Prairie will live-orchestrate his tales on stage. 

Karaoke: Are you the next big North Shore star? Then start warming up your vocal chords and  join the Rock House for karaoke on Thurs. from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. 

BrushBot Battle: Join the Winnetka Library for a BrushBot Battle! The event is open to students between grades 5 and 12. Students will build a mini robot and then see how it competes in the arena. Registration is required here. The event will be held on Sept. 11 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
