This community celebration of Veterans Day is free, open to the public and will include speakers Senator Mark Kirk, Congressman Robert Dold and Blinded Veterans Association Executive Director Designee Steve Beres. The Hadley School for the Blind will announce a new Blinded Veterans Initiative designed to support blinded veterans and their families. Moderated by Carrie Hoza, a local resident and army captain, the hour-long program will also include a flag presentation, gun salute on the Village Green and refreshments. The event is sponsored by The Hadley School for the Blind, Village of Winnetka, Winnetka Park District, Winnetka Club, New Trier VFW Post 4831 and Winnetka Historical Society.

Winnetka Woman's Club is a non-profit organization and club based in Winnetka. The organization's focus is on volunteer service and community engagement.
