Fine local food and beverage vendors will offer their cuisine in a festive family atmosphere at the Taste of the North Shore and Family Festival, set for Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5 at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Northfield, says event planner Candice Kuhnen, president of ABC Communications.

“This festival will provide an opportunity for families to have a taste from some of the North Shore's finest restaurants and have family fun on a prime summer weekend, while also supporting local charities,” says
Kuhnen. A percentage of sales will help support Family Promise, Habitat for Humanity Lake County and refugee One.

"The Festival will include a secure Kids Korner with arts and crafts, play house, Moonwalk, petting zoo, pony rides, a poetic story teller, ventriloquist and more,” says Kuhnen. “There will be a family activity center, a beer and wine garden and on-going live entertainment."

The Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Food and beverage tickets, costing $10 for a half sheet and $20 for a full sheet* are available in advance at cooperating retailers in Chicago, Deerfield, Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Northbrook, Northfield, Winnetka and Wheeling, and online. ABC Communications is a event marketing and PR agency based in Glencoe, Ill.
