The remarkable, but hardly astonishing, return of Vladimir Putin to near absolute power in the Kremlin sets the stage for this reassessment of 21st-century Russia. Jim Kenney leads the discussion as we review the past 12 months: the wielding of political power, the opposition, the repression, and the slowly changing role of Russia on the world stage. We'll spend considerable time trying to grasp the phenomenon that is Putin, and also meet a fascinating assortment of players that matter in the new, old Russia. As always, we'll try to look down the road to glimpse possible unfolding futures on an ancient landscape.

The North Shore Senior Center offers everything from enrichment and technology classes to entertainment and seminars on senior issues. The fitness center is open to seniors and the larger North Shore community. The volunteer center also helps seniors connect to the community through service, both at the center and in surrounding villages. It also has resources for those who live at home, such as a handyman services and legal and tax assistance.
