How do a postal worker and a librarian from New York amass a collection of modern art so extensive that it comes to be coveted by museums around the country? Herb and Dorothy presents the unlikely story of the Vogels, who began collecting art in the 1960s on his postal worker salary while living on her salary as a Brooklyn librarian. Ultimately the couple, who came to befriend many of the artists they collected, squeezed over 4,000 works of art worth millions of dollars into their small Manhattan apartment.
87 minutes. Not rated. The film will be shown twice, at 1:00 pm and at 7:00 pm, at the Woman's Library Club, 325 Tudor Ct.
