Celebrate Valentine’s Day Eve! The Book Stall at Chestnut Court (811 Elm Street in Winnetka) is delighted to host a story time with Highland Park native Brenda Ferber, author of the new picture book The Yuckiest, Stinkiest, Best Valentine Ever. After reading the story, join Ms. Ferber in constructing some Valentines, perfect for giving away the very next day. Ms. Ferber will be happy to autograph copies of her book. This event is recommended for kids ages 4-7, and is free and open to the public.
Brenda Ferber is the author of two novels for young people, Julia’s Kitchen and Jemma Hartman, Camper Extraordinaire. Her debut picture book, The Yuckiest, Stinkiest, Best Valentine Ever, has just been published. Publishers Weekly just profiled her “Random Acts of Kindness” Contest celebrating the book and its message of giving and courage. For more information on Brenda, her work, and the contest (which is free to enter—you just have to do a small act of good in the world) please check out her blog: http://brendaferber.blogspot.com.
