DESCRIPTION:Ever wonder how cold Lake Michigan really gets during the win
 ter? Come find out at the Centennial Leap in the Lake! This new event ch
 allenges the bravest of individuals to tough out the cold and wade into 
 the chilly winter waters of Glencoe Beach. After a quick dip into the wa
 ter\, participants will step into warming areas for hot chocolate\, coff
 ee\, and a visit with the Watts Center mascot\, Wattson the Polar Bear.T
 his event is a fundraiser for C.A.R.E.\, a scholarship fund for Glencoe 
 residents in need of financial assistance. Support a great cause by spon
 soring a friend or family member to take the plunge\, or raise money for
  your own dip into the water. Registrants will receive a welcome packet 
 and sponsorship form when they sign up. All participants can show off th
 eir bravery when they receive an &ldquo\;I Survived the Leap in the Lake
 &rdquo\; sweatshirt!Registration Fee: $20 for Ages 10-17 / $25 for Age 1

 event\, registrants must sign a high-risk waiver in order to participate
 . &bull\; All participants and observers must walk down the bluff to Gle
 ncoe Beach\, as motorized shuttles are unable to travel the course durin
 g the winter. &bull\; Emergency medical staff and a dive team will be on
 -site to assist participants if needed. &bull\; Warming tents and a chan
 ging station will be available\, however be aware the Beach House will b
