GLENCOE JUNIOR HIGH PROJECT PRESENTS “LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS”

JANUARY 31 through FEBRUARY 3, 2013

The Glencoe Junior High Project (GJHP) is pleased to present the musical comedy “Little Shop of Horrors,” a darkly hilarious yet gentle parody of detective and low-grade horror films.

Award-winning performer and director Adam Busch leads the cast and crew of 50 Central School sixth- through eighth-graders in this family-friendly production. “Little Shop of Horrors” tells the story of a down-and-out floral assistant who becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving, his love for his co-worker, and how his plans go awry when the plant’s demands grow a little too wild!

Each show will feature a surprise guest appearance by a member of the Central Junior High School staff.

Four performances will be held in Central School’s Misner Auditorium, 620 Greenwood Ave., Glencoe: Thursday, January 31, 2013 @ 7:00 p.m.; Friday, February 1, 2013 @ 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 2, 2013 @ 3:00 p.m.; and Sunday, February 3, 2013 @ 1:00 p.m.

Tickets go on sale in Central School’s Young Auditorium on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (tickets will also be sold on the following days from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Jan. 17, 18, 23, 24, 25). Tickets will also be sold one hour prior to each show, if available.

Tickets are $12.50 and all proceeds support the Glencoe Junior High Project. ###

I am still in shock that an elementary school would select this show for young people to perform. It is not gentle it was violent . It included a gun, sadism, domestic abuse and drug addiction. It is a disgrace that I cannot bring my child to see a school play without being deeply disturbed. Michelle Nelson
