The Skokie School gym (520 Glendale) will be open for play on Monday, February 18, this District 36 day off of school. Grab your friends and head over to practice your basketball skills or join in other gym activities. Kindergarten through 3rd graders open gym is from 10 am – 12 pm and 4th-8th graders will meet from 1 – 3 pm. The gym will be supervised by a Winnetka Park District staff member. More About The Skokie School
Students in fifth and sixth grade attend The Skokie School before progressing to Carleton Washburne School on District 36's middle school campus. The Skokie School opened in 1922 to serve middle school students. As the school district changed in size, the school accomodated different grade levels of students. Since the 1998-99 school year, fifth and sixth graders have attended The Skokie School. Students at The Skokie School have the opportunity to study Spanish and participate in dance, drama, music, computers and community service. Fifth graders participate in Extravaganza, a perfomance that features the students as artists, musicians and dancers.
