Book Release Party for Todd Hasak-Lowy's "33 Minutes"
The Book Stall at Chestnut Court, 811 Elm St, Winnetka, IL | Get Directions »
FREE
We are delighted to welcome Evanston author Todd Hasak-Lowy, discussing and signing copies of his funny and poignant new novel for young people, 33 Minutes. R.J. Palacio, the bestselling author of Wonder, says, "Funny, fast-paced, and quite poignant, 33 Minutes beautifully captures one of the greatest heartbreaks of middle school: the end of a friendship." This event is free and open to the public, and great for readers ages 10 to adult. Refreshments will be served.
We were lucky enough at The Book Stall to meet Todd this past fall and get our hands on some advance reading copies, and we can tell you that 33 Minutes is the real deal—great for kids ready to move on from Wimpy Kid, but retaining a snappy, realistic humor (coupled with real insight and poignancy.) Sam Lewis’s ex-best friend Morgan Sturtz told Sam he’s going to “kick his butt.” How did they get from best friends to worst enemies? How can Sam avoid a butt-kicking? 33 Minutes is about that tough time in middle school when you start becoming the adult you are going to be, and everyone around you is changing.
Todd Hasak-Lowy lives in Evanston with his wife and daughters. He is the author of two acclaimed books for adults, but 33 Minutes is his first book for young people. You can learn more about Todd and his work at http://www.toddhasaklowy.com.
