The Alliance for Early Childhood is proud to present "Beyond the Screen: Helping Boys and Girls Grow Up in a Media-Saturated World," featuring Dr. Diane Levin, on Friday, January 25.
Diane Levin, Ph.D. is a professor at Wheelock College in Boston; author of eight books; and an internationally-recognized expert on the impact of violence, media, and other societal issues on children and families.
The talk will be held at The Great Hall at Holy Comforter Church, 222 Kenilworth Ave., Kenilworth, from 9:30 to 11 am. There is no fee (although donations are gratefully accepted). Participants should register at director@TheAllianceForEC.org.
Dr. Levin will explore the powerful influence media, technology, and marketing are having on children. She will also focus on what we can do to make it better. She will make recommendations to help parents reduce stress, promote optimal development, learning and play, counteract gender stereotypes, and strengthen their connections with their children.
